Client story

Modernizing the insurance journey across two brands

Two HUB insurance brands, Insureon and TechInsurance, needed steady work on the pages customers use and the systems behind them. We built policy recommendations and profession search, gave editors better publishing controls, made accessibility checks repeatable and kept the releases moving.

The problem

A business owner looking for insurance has a practical question. Which coverage fits the work I do?

Answering it takes more than a policy page. The customer needs a way to describe their business, understand the options and move forward. The content team needs to keep that journey current. The engineering team needs to change it without losing track of everything connected to it.

From September 2023 to October 2026 our team worked directly with HUB on two of its brands, Insureon and TechInsurance. The work ran from single components through content workflows, accessibility and releases.

What we built

One team across the pages customers use and the systems behind them.

  • Recommend. On Insureon we built the Policy Recommendation Tool interface: the questionnaire, progress stepper, information modal and recommendations page. Entry points lead in from the homepage, policy pages and navigation, and the tool became a standalone component.
  • Search. Profession search on both brands, with the Sitecore templates, publishing workflow and scripts to populate, migrate and export the profession data.
  • Publish. A redesigned Insureon blog, from article pages and the blog homepage to sections, tag results and related posts, with a migration script for the related-post changes.
  • Control. Warnings for items that cannot be published, header and footer feature flags, rules for which controls an editor can add to a section, image validation and content references remapped when a page is copied.
  • Modernize. React components and page types moved from JavaScript to TypeScript. The Sitecore JSS 21 upgrade went through its regression rounds, alongside Sass and build updates.
  • Release. Staging and production configuration in Argo CD, with weekly dependency releases for the two .NET data services behind the business.

How we know it works

Accessibility work covered keyboard use, screen readers and the page structure that browsing agents read, on both brands. To make it repeatable we built an internal scanner and dashboard in 12 days, combining axe-core checks, custom probes and recorded baseline runs.

The team used it for before-and-after assessment on production preview: 10 page types, desktop and mobile, on both brands. That is 40 combinations of page type, device view and brand, the same scope every time, so remediation could be compared like for like.

Performance work went after specific causes. Loading priority for the main hero images, blog images cached at the right size, unused third-party code removed and needless component re-renders fixed. An oversized image and a repeatedly rendered component need different fixes.

  • The scanner stays an internal tool, separate from the customer-facing sites.
  • Components and fixes built for Insureon were ported to TechInsurance and adapted to the sister site.
  • Small fixes got the same care: a business name cut to the length a downstream integration accepts, a profession list that scrolls on iPhone and a copied page with its content references remapped.

What changed

Customers gained a policy recommendation interface reachable from the homepage, policy pages and navigation. Profession search gained the templates, workflow and data scripts to maintain it on both brands.

Editors gained warnings for unpublishable items, section controls and image validation. Accessibility gained a scanner built in 12 days and a repeatable assessment of 40 combinations. The two data services received 82 dependency releases from September 2025 to September 2026, 41 each.

Where it stops

  • Our figures describe delivery and assessment coverage. We have no before-and-after results for page speed, conversion or accessibility findings, so we claim none.
  • The 40 combinations are assessment coverage, not 40 passing tests. The 82 releases are dependency updates, not feature releases.
  • Our team worked directly with HUB alongside its own teams. This is not a claim that we delivered the whole platform.

What we delivered

  • Policy recommendation and profession search experiences
  • Blog and homepage components, with content migration scripts
  • Sitecore authoring controls, validation rules and publishing improvements
  • TypeScript conversion, platform upgrades and targeted performance fixes
  • Accessibility remediation and an internal scanner with a 40-combination assessment
  • Argo CD configuration and weekly dependency releases for two data services

The claims nobody needs to open

Every short-ship deduction at Winland Foods went to a person, though most investigated claims proved real. We built a model that scores each new claim overnight in Snowflake, clears only the sure ones and was graded on months it never saw.

The schools that actually graduate therapists

Hand & Stone needed more licensed massage therapists. We built research agents on a deterministic spine that grew its school list to 1,193, sourced every figure and ranked the schools by what matters to its spas.
